CYNTHIA PEACOCK
Fine Art Painting (oils and watercolors) is my “5th career.” Previous avocations were in performance as Modern Dancer / Fashion Merchandising and Design / Chef-Caterer / professional Interior Designer specializing in Hospitality Design (hotels-resorts) and Residential Design throughout the world. I have also taught Interior Design as an Adjunct Professor of Residential Design at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, and in the Continuing Education program at Front Range Community College and through the Boulder Valley School District.
I have been extremely fortunate to be inspired by and study with a few outstanding artists/painters in Colorado, most noteworthy, Margareta Gilboy in Denver, and Jordan Wolfson, in Boulder. Boulder has also offered ample opportunities to take advantage of many excellent art workshops, especially thanks to Cara Luneau and her artworkshopsboulder.com These artists’ include: Ken Kewley - Catherine Kehoe - Janice Nowinski - Peter Schroth - Jon Redmond - Zoey Frank - Stuart Shills - Chris Liberti - Yin Lee - Kathleen Speranza.
Fine art painting, for me, draws upon all my past experiences and emotions, and I am most interested in exploring my environment and learning deeply to “SEE and FEEL” versus just “looking around.” Of course, all the elements/principles of design-art are meaningful and applicable, considering my background! It’s a constant challenge to “record” my feelings or the 3-dimensional landscape of life into the magic of 2-D on canvas or paper. As I delve into my own world of painting, I continue art & design color consultations and curating/arranging clients’ works of art and collections.
